What is The Standerd?
The Standerd is a new quarterly publication founded by acclaimed wake photographers Joey Meddock and Josh Letchworth. It features only the best in photography, design and writing.
Its purpose is to chronicle wakeboarding and wakeskating from a photo-journal perspective, providing a unique, high-quality canvas for the lifestyle, people and events in wake.
There are far fewer ads in The Standerd, because the books are mostly supported by subscribers, rather than advertisers.
What is the content like?
In each issue, there will be tons of incredible photos, and many great stories. Each book has the following sections:
Juice: No page numbers or graphics -- just awesome photos.
Chronicle: A montage of the last three months of wake.
Out Of Context: Wake from another angle. A photo and its story.
Profile: Twenty pages on one rider, written and designed by that rider.
Black & White: The very middle photo spread, dedicated to the fine art of the BW photo.
Critique: The photo section within the photo magazine. The award-winners.
Peripheral Vision: All the things you see that wouldn't normally make it into print.
Photo Essay: A different topic in each issue, a great wake story with the photos to help tell it.
Polaroids: Candid photos of who's who in wake.
Vintage: The retro spread -- something from the good 'ole days.
Gallery: The photo marketplace. A collection of photos from each issue available for sale as prints. Put the best on your very own wall!
How often does The Standerd come out?
It is published quarterly (four times a year), in January, April, July and October.
Is it just Meddock and Letchworth?
Heck no! It features the best photos and writing from anyone and everyone in the sport. Many photographers and writers are featured in Book 1.1, and even more will be in subsequent books. Joey and Josh just got the ball rolling, the whole wake community will make the upcoming content great.
Everyone is encouraged to submit their best photos, stories and ideas. From pros to weekend warriors to 'industry' folks, everyone plays a part in the evolution in the sport.
Where we're going, we can only get there together.

Fewer Ads?
Yep, and they'll be better-looking ads too.
Because we're subscriber-supported, we don't need a ton of ads to produce each book. That means the companies you see on our pages share our passion for wake, and are truly committed to evolving the sport.
Who's behind it?
The Standerd is independently created and published. There's no big company, just a small group of perfectionists tirelessly dedicated to doing things the "right way." We work like crazy making sure there's well-designed, unique content on every page. All our material comes right from the community itself, as pure as it gets.
Where can I find The Standerd?
You can buy a subscription or single issues online, or at your local pro shop.
If they don't have it, tell them they should!
